Geneva Tourism & Conventions Foundation has announced Mr Alain Pittet will take the helm of the Geneva Convention Bureau. As an experienced director, he will be able to support and take full advantage of this period of dynamic recovery.

For several weeks now, the convention sector has been showing signs of recovery after two years of slowdown. With the assistance of an expert team and the support of local actors, Alain Pittet’s mission is to increase the activity of associative congresses in Geneva. He will take up his post on 1 April 2022.

With twenty-nine years of experience in congress and event management, including sixteen years at the Swiss Exhibition, Alain Pittet has also been Managing Director, member of the Board of Directors and partner of the PCO (Professional Congress Organiser) Congrex Switzerland for almost nine years. For the past four years, he has worked as Executive Director of International Business Development at the Italian PCO EGA worldwide congresses & events. Alain Pittet was also a Council Member of IAPCO (International Association of Professional Congress Organisers) for five years.

Over the years, he has built up an excellent network of international and national associations, globally active PCOs, Convention Bureaus and destinations around the world. Alain Pittet is a native (Swiss) German speaker and is fluent in French, English and Italian. Married with two grown-up sons, he and his Italian wife own a small house with a vineyard in Sardinia where they produce their own wine.
