Gault & Millau, a world-renowned guide through the world of gastronomy, has awarded the best restaurants and chefs in Croatia in 2022.
The awards for the 2022 best restaurants and chefs were presented at a gala dinner at the Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb, where more than 100 leading chefs of Croatian restaurants gathered last night.
The Croatian chef of the year according to Gault & Millau Croatia is Ana Grgić Tomić, chef of Zinfandel’s and Le Bistro restaurants at Zagreb’s Hotel Esplanade.

The fifth edition of Gault&Millau Croatia 2022 Guide
Gault&Millau presented the fifth edition of its Croatia guide. The bilingual international gastronomic guide includes 265 Top restaurants, 105 POP – popular bars (bistros, street food, snack bars, patisseries) and 105 wines from all over Croatia.
The trophy for the great ‘chef of tomorrow’ was won by three chefs – Michael Gollenz from the Alfred Keller restaurant at the Alhambra Hotel on the island of Lošinj, Nikola Marušić from the PiNKU Fish & Wine restaurant in Split and Stiven Vunić, chef and owner of the Zijavica restaurant from Mošćenička Draga.
The trophy for the best chef of traditional cuisine went to Nebojša Rajković from the restaurant Čingi Lingi čarda in Bilje, while Ana Morgan, from the restaurant Morgan in Brtonigla, won the trophy for best chef of new traditional cuisine. The Young Talent of the Year trophy was won by Matea Jurec, chef at Loora restaurant in Đakovo, and Marko Jantolek, chef at Matrix restaurant in Zagreb.
Daniela Kramarić, owner of the restaurant Plavi podrum in Volosko, won the trophy for the best promotion of Croatian gastronomy and oenology, and the restaurant Martinis Marchi on the island of Šolta won the trophy for the best service. Pandora Greenbox restaurant from Split won the trophy for the best POP bar.
In the category of the best restaurants, 360 from Dubrovnik and its chef Marijo Curić, restaurant Monte from Rovinj and chef Danijel Đekić, Zagreb’s NAV and chef Tvrtko Šakota, Šibenik’s Pelegrini and its owner and chef Rudolf Štefan, restaurant Pergola from Zambratija and owner and chef Fabricio Vežnaver and Zinfandel’s restaurant at Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb and chef Ana Grgić Tomić, were all winners.
