Ljubljana is hosting the next Global Cycling Summit Velo-city, which will take place from 14 to 17 June 2022. The biggest congress in the field of cycling will be held under the main theme »Cycling the change«.

As the annual flagship event of the European Cyclists’ Federation, Velo-city plays a valuable part in promoting cycling as a sustainable and healthy means of transport for all. – Policies for more cycling
– Green tourism, green economy
– Urban mobility innovation

Within the conference’s framework, on Wednesday, 15 June 2022, the bike festival Cycling the Change will take place in Congress Square, where public institutions and companies, associations and other organisations working in the field of sustainable mobility, sports, health and environmental protection will present their activities. The event will culminate in the afternoon when attendees will embark on a bike parade across the streets of Ljubljana. The cyclists will set off on an inspiring 11-kilometre-long route.

“I am pleased that Ljubljana, the European Green Capital 2016, which is committed to sustainable development, is hosting such an important bicycle conference. We are proud that international experts have recognized our progress in the field of cycling, and that the European Cyclists’ Federation has entrusted us with the organisation of this meeting, where we will highlight the latest activities, guidelines and measures in the field of bicycling in the cities,” said Zoran Janković, Mayor of Ljubljana.

Participants of the Velo-city conference will participate in the bike parade on bicycles from the BicikeLJ self-service system.

The registration is open until Tuesday, 14 June 2022. More information about the bike parade is available here
