International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) has taken home two prestigious accolades this week at the International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC) Congress held in Budapest, Hungary.

The AIPC Innovation Overall Award recognised ICC Sydney’s new one-stop destination for digital event solutions – Connect Hub. Meanwhile, the AIPC Future Shapers ‘EventShaper’ team, including ICC Sydney’s senior team members, Mathew Haynes, Senior Manager, Live Events, who developed the original solution concept, together with Sandra Rae, Senior Manager, Public Relations, among other representatives from convention centres across the globe, was recognised for presenting a top new client portal platform — addressing a common industry challenge.

ICC Sydney’s Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Donaghy, praised the venue team’s commitment to driving innovative solutions and sharing them via AIPC’s global platform.

Director of Audio Visual Services at ICC Sydney, Brian Nash welcomed the recognition for the team driving Connect Hub’s broad-reaching digital solutions.

“Connect Hub was born out of our team’s agility and dedication to working with clients to ensure event success in these modern times of evolving operating conditions. Through Connect Hub we have future-proofed events of all types by taking traditional speaker preparation to the next level for both onsite and online speakers, including a dedicated media studio for broadcast events, a video edit suite, digital signage management and a digital event platform design and delivery. Managed by ICC Sydney’s audio visual experts, the venue’s customisable digital event platform, ICC Sydney Connect, provides an end to end solution for managing hybrid events,” Mr Nash said.

Led by AIPC Chief Executive Officer Sven Bossu and an international task force including ICC Sydney’s Director of Communication, Corporate Affairs and Social Responsibility, Samantha Glass, the AIPC Future Shapers program supports the development of high performers within the AIPC community.
