BEST INCENTIVE IDEA

Chocolate and Wine at Lake Zurich

Hop on a boat at Bürkliplatz in the city centre and enjoy a scenic cruise on Lake Zurich. Disembark in Kilchberg to visit the impressive Lindt Home of Chocolate – a heaven for all chocoholics.

The place where Lindt chocolatiers have been making chocolate since 1899 is now home to an experience world featuring a 9-meter tall chocolate fountain, a multimedia exhibition and show production, an ultra-modern Lindt café and the largest Lindt Chocolate Shop in the world. Exclusive chocolate courses under the expert guidance of the Lindt Maîtres Chocolatiers for groups of up to 60 persons can also be booked.

As wine is perfectly matching chocolate, a visit to a winery in the vineyards of the region is a good idea to finish the day. Enjoy local wine and cheese specialities while the sun is slowly setting over Lake Zurich.

BEST KEPT SECRETS

Zurich’s public transportation network is one of the most efficient and reliable in the world. It, therefore, comes as no surprise that streetcars and buses are the preferred means of transportation for the city’s population. The dense network and frequent services connect every point in the city, and passengers get to see even more of the surroundings on their journey. One ticket can be used on all forms of transportation on the city network, including boats, funicular railways, and cable cars.

A variety of vehicles can also be rented for private trips. For example, the vintage streetcar from 1929 has a capacity for up to 25 guests. The gastronomic options range from Swiss specialities to Thai cuisine right through to sushi.

PERFECT GIFT

Water Bottle

There is always a supply of fresh, top-quality drinking water in Zurich, free of charge for everyone – thanks to more than 1,200 fountains that can be found every few meters all over the city. Thus Zurich is one of the cities with the largest number of fountains in the world.

Those who get thirsty while exploring Zurich do not need to look for a supermarket. A drinking bottle is enough – such as the top-quality, reusable, and ultra-light Sigg bottle that can be bought at the Tourist Information. Simply unscrew, fill up, and enjoy the cool, fresh drinking water.

TOP EVENTS IN 2022

Direct Air Capture Summit

Climeworks’ Direct Air Capture Summit is a one-of-a-kind platform featuring business, technology, and policy experts. Key players collaborating and discussing high-quality carbon removal solutions help drive the scale-up the industry needs. The third edition of the summit will highlight the roles that the public and private sectors play in driving climate solutions and meeting global net-zero goals.

Climeworks uses a technology called ‘direct air capture’ to capture carbon dioxide directly from the air. When the removed air is combined with underground storage, it allows the permanent removal of excess and legacy CO₂ emissions, which can no longer contribute to climate change.

K3 Kongress zu Klimakommunikation 2022

With over 400 participants, the K3 Kongress zu Klimakommunikation is considered to be Europe’s largest event on the topic of climate communication. The theme of the K3.2022 is “Our climate our future. Climate communication in times of crisis”. The congress aims to find out how we can embark into a future-proof world with innovative ideas and what we can do precisely now.

Men’s World Floorball Championships 2022

The Men’s WFC 2022 is also pursuing high goals on the sidelines: The 2022 event is going to be the first climate-neutral World Floorball Championship in history. To achieve this goal, swiss unihockey is working closely with its sustainability partner myclimate.

In order to create a starting position and to recognize energy-saving potential, the CO2 emissions at the previous men’s WFC 2018 in Prague were measured. The WFC 2018 was the biggest and most successful Floorball WFC up to now and set new standards on many levels. In 2022, the aspect of sustainability will be included. Together with myclimate, swiss unihockey defined its sustainability goal, the “Green Goal”, with the results from 2018. By choosing sustainable products, efficient forms of travel to the event, and the right partners, the CO2 emissions should be reduced by over 50% compared to 2018, to a maximum of 3,000 tons. This is an ambitious goal that calls for many creative, innovative and cool ideas and solutions. It is not just about abstention, but also about the mindset of creating added value with the defined starting position. swiss unihockey is convinced that right now, the prerequisites are available so that all of us can accomplish something great together. So, as always, let’s be good sports. Challenge accepted!
