Copenhagen was announced the host city at the 47th Apimondia congress, which took place in Istanbul. The win is the result of a very strong Scandinavian bid and collaboration between the Danish, Norwegian and Swedish beekeeping associations.
Apimondia is a non-governmental organisation that brings together beekeepers, manufacturers of beekeeping equipment and a wide variety of scientists involved in apiculture, apitherapy, pollination, development and economics.
