LOCATION
The new hotel intertwines the architecture, flavours and tastes of the most famous and cosmopolitan Serbian mountain. Gorski Hotel & Spa sits in a spectacular location in the heart of the skiing amphitheatre of Kopaonik. In the winter, the skiing resort is reminiscent of an ant colony, whereas, in the summer, the mountain offers a perfect starting point for team activities. A phenomenal location thus awaits guests in the heart of the ski resort. A large part of Kopaonik is protected as a national park where a rich adrenaline offer awaits visitors. In addition, the mountain is famed as a cycling and hiking destination, where visitors can even go on mushroom and blueberry hunts in the vast forests. The architects seamlessly connected the architecture with the natural surroundings. Their design amid a mountain paradise was thought-out, adding value to the splendid location.
ACCESSIBILITY
All roads in Serbia lead to Belgrade. From there, only 260 or 290 kilometres will take visitors to Kopaonik. Luckily, the infrastructure improves annually, and Kopaonik is becoming closer to the Serbian metropolis. The recently-constructed highway to Čačak reduced the journey to Kopaonik significantly. Numerous routes lead to the mountain at 1700 metres. These include the most scenic Serbian roads where you can taste the performance of your car. Undoubtedly, Kopaonik is a paradise for hikers, where one will never get tired of the hiking trails. We recommend taking the time to go off the beaten track.
COLD STARTER - Architecture and aesthetics
Gorski Hotel & Spa was designed by two famous Serbian architects, Dušan Tešić and Dušanka Vučenović. Their inspiration came from a tradition based on natural materials and wood. The imposing facade is reminiscent of traditional chimneys. Stone and wood are omnipresent in the interior. The eclectic mountain style appears warm, appealing and inviting. Thus, Gorski Hotel & Spa exudes a jing-jang harmony. The hotel also intertwines modern elements, such as the open kitchen in the signature restaurant La Pista. Evidently, the architects aimed to create an archetypal image of a fireplace where the community gathers. The image reflects genuine hospitality and safety. In such a contemplative ambience, visitors can enjoy a magnific view and feast their eyes on contrastive elements of water and fire.
WARM ENTRÉE - The staff and the culinary experience
The staff exceeded expectations and were, above all, utterly professional and kind. They were also hospitable, as seen in the La Pista Restaurant. The restaurant may be the best in Kopaonik. We had not tasted such a tasteful risotto with a twist in a long time. The Italian cuisine featured on the menu is outstanding. The same goes for the other restaurants within the hotel, including breakfast. Although classic, the breakfast is diverse and rich. The hotel is spotless and well-maintained, evident in the sterile lift and all surfaces. The personnel is among the hotel’s main advantages.
MAIN COURSE – The meetings offering at the hotel
Hotel rooms
The rooms feature large windows and spacious balconies in the embrace of nature. They are pleasant and decorated with natural wood, wool and traditional patterns. Details in the superior room come in an elegant velvet colour on the bed, chair and lounger. Upon stepping into the room, the guest is overwhelmed with a sense of home-like ambience. The hotel’s style never goes out of fashion and will stay timeless due to exquisite materials. More importantly, the hotel is suitable for longer stays and business guests, who will appreciate the fast internet and a spacious work desk.
Meetings centre
Gorski Hotel & Spa is home to a conference centre featuring the largest hall in Kopaonik that stretches 410 m2. It can capacitate up to 440 attendees in a theatre setting. It may be the most advanced conference space in Kopaonik, and its main room has three accompanying halls. The terrace is tremendously popular, while the entry foyer is praiseworthy and suitable for smaller exhibitions. Gorski Hotel & Spa is very proactive and provides special offers for congress and corporate groups. When meeting planners decide to organise an event, the hotel is willing to rent some of the spacious outdoor venues. In our opinion, the hotel has the best conference centre in Kopaonik.
DESSERT – The extras
The La Pista Restaurant boasts spectacular panoramic views of the ski slopes. It offers superb Italian cuisine under the helm of chef Branislav Novitović. Umami!
FLOP – NEGATIVE SURPRISES
The Spa & Wellness centre is world-class and spacious (1000 m2), yet gets crowded quickly. Perhaps regulating guests’ appointments would create more space.
TOP – POSITIVE SURPRISES
The rich and innovative offer of teambuilding programmes includes Escape Kopaonik, Trophy Hunting and an array of classic and adrenaline experiences.
FINAL IMPRESSION AND CREDIBILITY
The recipe for a top-notch mountain meeting hotel has long been known in the heart of the Alps. The success of recreating such a mountain style is variable. Gorski Hotel & Spa Kopaonik impressed with impeccable hotel service and excellent conference centre. Its interior design and architecture add a wow effect. Such a package is not the cheapest in Serbia; however, it is affordable in terms of regional and international scope. The staff is no stranger to organising events, and many productions have turned them into experienced counsellors. Thus, we deem the hotel one of the most positive surprises in Serbia. The hotel excels in almost every segment that event organisers think is integral. Nonetheless, there is still room for improvement.
