The fair, which took place between January 31 and February 3, was inaugurated by the Minister of Economy, Tourism and Sport, Matjaž Han. The international Jakob Award for innovation, quality and excellence in tourism was awarded to the Idrija Žlikrofov project, ID20 Institute – Institute for Innovation in Heritage.
Jakob Award
The international Jakob Award was awarded by Maja Pak Olaj, director of the Slovenian Tourist Organisation and Prof. Janez Bogataj, chairman of the committee for the Jakob Award. The committee included Bojana Rogelj, Karmen Razlag and Ylenia Loredan. The Jakob Award for the year 2024 and the title of Ambassador of Innovative Tourist Events, as selected by the committee, went to the Idrija žlikrofov project by ID20 Institute – Institute for Innovation in Heritage.
The lively happenings on the exhibition floor continued with insightful lectures, presentations and press conferences. At the fair, experts presented the latest trends and innovations, and the Slovenian Tourist Board presented guidelines for the central communication topic “Art and culture” for 2024 and 2025.
Over 350 tourism providers from 13 countries attended the fair, including Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, Italy, Hungary, Germany, France, Sweden, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Nepal and Thailand. Visitors could discover numerous destinations that offer experiences, from active vacations to discovering natural and cultural heritage. The event also hosted providers of camping equipment, luxury RVs, e-bikes, and electric scooters.
The Alpe Adria fair has a rich history that helps strengthen Slovenian tourism and serves as a platform for innovation and development. The event is the central meeting place for all tourism enthusiasts who want to discover new destinations and experiences.
