Gourmet Cup Ljubljana, the annual skiing and culinary get-together at Krvavec Ski Resort, will take place on 4 and 5 March this year. As tradition dictates, leading Slovenian chefs, as well as young talents and winemakers, will pamper culinary and ski lovers in the embrace of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. The event is organised by Jezeršek Catering in partnership with Ljubljana Tourism.
The event has become a catalyst for promoting catering among aspiring chefs, providing a platform for education and creating new ties.
“I believe that this event undoubtedly contributes to the further development and recognition of our cuisine, and at the same time, encourages greater interest in enrolling in catering and cooking schools, which further strengthens our culinary potential,” says Petra Stušek, Director of Ljubljana Tourism.
Gourmet pampering on the snow
Monday morning will start with a Gourmet Breakfast, followed by a ski race for the Gourmet Cup. Throughout the day, top Slovenian chefs and their protégés – the former working and mentoring young culinary talents who are honing their skills in Slovenian schools. Seven catering schools are participating in the event, and the mentors will include chefs Igor Jagodic from Restaurant Strelec and Luka Košir from Restaurant Grič, two restaurants with a Michelin star.
Unique dinner on the gondola
Gourmet Cup Ljubljana will continue with a unique experience: dinner on the gondola and under the watchful eye of master chefs from the Jezeršek family, Tomaž Bolka from Gostilna Krištof and a guest chef, one of the most creative Slovenian chefs of the young generation and Michelin and green star recipient – Luka Košir from Grič. He will spoil guests with the modern tastes of Ljubljana – signature dishes made from high-quality local ingredients.
