MIA, the Meetings Industry Association, published its latest MIA Insights report for October 2024, which reveals increasing confidence within the events and hospitality sector despite ongoing uncertainties regarding government support.

Based on responses from 105 venues and 66 suppliers in October 2024, the report provides valuable benchmarks and trends to help organisations understand their standing within the sector.

Key Findings:.

  • 74% confidence in sector growth
  • 11 weeks average lead time
  • 14% enquiries from non-UK event planners
  • £34,534 average budget of enquiries
  • 7 in 10 are upskilling their workforce
  • 6% feel supported by the government

The MIA stressed the importance of collaboration within the sector, “The sector’s support in contributing to our quarterly research remains invaluable, as we continue to share these insights with key government departments. By working together, and alongside government, we are optimistic that we can ensure that the sector not only remains resilient but reaches its full potential as a key part of the UK economy.

“While confidence in growth is reassuring, continued dialogue with policymakers will be critical to unlocking the sector’s full potential as a vital contributor to the UK economy,” said an MIA spokesperson.

The full November 2024 MIA Insights report is now available to help organisations benchmark their performance and plan for the future.
