Under the theme “Move Better“, TMWC, organized jointly by Fira de Barcelona and EIT Urban Mobility – an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, a body of the European Union – will bring together leading international experts, companies and public institutions in the sector.
The conference program will feature 50 sessions that will revolve around ten key thematic axes in achieving a paradigm shift in mobility: New Mobility Services, Public Transport, Autonomous Mobility, Last Mile Logistics, Data for Mobility, Mobility Infrastructures for More Livable Spaces, Zero and Low Emission Mobility, Active Mobility, Road Safety and Inclusive Mobility.
TMWC will feature an exhibition area and an Innovation Playground that will include a Demo Area for demonstrations of new vehicles and an area dedicated to innovative startups within the mobility industry.
TMWC will feature 200 international experts who will address the main challenges of moving people and goods in the urban environment. Among them will be Sascha Pallenberg and Rikesh Shah. Pallenberg is Head of Awareness at Aware, a sustainability platform in Germany, and was previously responsible for Digital Transformation at Daimler AG. Founder of Mobilegeeks, he started his career as a blogger and continues to drive sustainable digital transformation through podcasts.
The second keynote, Rikesh Shah, is a public sector innovation expert who currently heads the Innovation Procurement Empowerment Centre in the UK. Shah worked for 22 years at Transport for London (TfL), where he held a variety of roles including Director of Open Innovation. He was instrumental in setting up TfL’s first open innovation unit, focused on public-private collaboration to improve transport services.
The event will be held in conjunction with the Smart City Expo World Congress, the leading trade fair and congress on smart cities and smart urban solutions, which will feature the second edition of Tomorrow.Building, a forum focused on the green and digital transition of buildings and urban infrastructure, and Tomorrow.Blue Economy, aimed at harnessing the full potential of ocean resources for sustainable economic growth.
In total, these events are expected to bring together more than 1,100 exhibitors, representatives from more than 850 cities, over 700 international experts and more than 25,000 attendees.
