Vučević emphasised that today taking over the flag is a symbol of victory and proof of the country’s enormous success.
Expo 2027 will be a milestone in the overall development of Serbia, he said, pointing out that the country has laid the foundation for connecting countries worldwide and that this event is an opportunity for people and states to show their most valuable cultural, economic and innovation potential.
The Prime Minister underlined that the Expo will be a meeting place for tradition and innovation, new chances and opportunities and that Belgrade, as a link between the East and the West, is a bridge connecting diverse peoples, ideas and visions.
The Prime Minister said that Serbia will have a chance to demonstrate innovation, pointing out that more than 300 projects defined by the Leap into the Future plan will kick-start the entire country.
He expressed his confidence that Serbia will be the best host for 4 million visitors from more than 120 countries, noting that the Expo theme “Play for Humanity – Sports and Music for All” demonstrates the country’s aspiration to build a more humane world.
The flag, which is the key symbol of hosting one of the most prestigious international events, was handed over to the delegation of Serbia on 26 November in Paris.
The Specialised Expo 2027 will be held in Belgrade from 15 May to 15 August 2027.
