Celebrating 17 years of excellence, the Serbia Convention Bureau hosted the prestigious Serbian Congress Ambassadors 2024 awards ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Belgrade. The event recognised distinguished individuals who have made outstanding contributions to their respective fields and significantly enhanced Serbia’s global standing as a premier destination for international congresses and events.

Marija Labović, Director of the National Tourism Organisation of Serbia, presented the awards, emphasising the honourees’ pivotal role in strengthening Serbia’s reputation in the global meetings and events industry. This year’s awardees include:

  • Primarius Dr Aleksandar Saša Jokić, a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation, renowned for his work in balneoclimatology and leadership at the Rehabilitation Centre in Banja Koviljača.
  • Dr Ivana Ivančev Tumbas, a full professor at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad, specialising in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Environmental Protection.
  • Dejan Bojović, graduate mining engineer and Board member of EDA – the European Demolition, Decontamination, and Recycling Association.
  • Prof. Dr Aleksandar Karamarković, a leading surgeon and director at the Nikola Spasić Surgical Clinic, Clinical Hospital Centre Zvezdara.

  • Prof. Dr Bojana Kovačević Petrović, a prominent professor of Hispanic literature and cultures at the University of Novi Sad.
  • Dr Miroslav Nikolić, president of the International Society for Silicon in Agriculture and research advisor at the University of Belgrade’s Institute for Multidisciplinary Research.
  • Denis Novak, founder of the Novak Veterinary Clinic and a member of the British Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, recognised for his international contributions to veterinary science.
  • Milja Stijović, senior curator and expert in cultural studies, celebrated for her work in the digitisation of cultural heritage.

These individuals join the distinguished Serbian Congress Ambassadors Club, reflecting their commitment to advancing Serbia as a hub for international collaboration and innovation.
