The 19th World Conference of the League of Historic Cities, which brings together cities rich in cultural heritage, was held in Ljubljana last month, between 12 and 14 November 2024. At the end of the conference, representatives of the participating cities also signed the Ljubljana Declaration.

The conference brought together 120 participants from 27 cities in 15 countries. The main theme was creating vibrant and pedestrian-friendly city centres with sustainable mobility solutions, and in this context, participants exchanged good practices in the preservation of historic city centres, and discussed the challenges and opportunities for sustainable development in historic city centres, focusing on people. They also explored sustainable mobility as a tool for protecting cultural heritage and improving the quality of life in historic cities.
