THE EIGHTEENTH EVENT VENUE AT Ljubljana Castle
Ljubljana Castle is one of the most sought-after venues in Ljubljana, having hosted 331 events, 432 wedding ceremonies and 983 guided tours last year.
Kazemate Hall has become the eighteenth event venue within Ljubljana Castle and at the same time the final space to undergo renovation and receive a new purpose. Since the beginning of this year, it has been available to event organisers.
Kazemate Hall is a contemporary multi-purpose hall that preserves its authentic character while enabling the organisation of a wide range of cultural, artistic and other events. Like the rest of Ljubljana Castle, the Kazemate space has served many different purposes throughout history. In the late Middle Ages, it functioned as a passage leading to the castle courtyard. During the period when the castle was converted into a prison, the Kazemate served as a large dormitory for inmates. Later, in the 20th century, when residents still lived within the castle walls, the space housed a carpentry workshop.
A distinctive feature of Kazemate Hall is its integrated lifting and inclined mechanical structure, which allows for a variety of spatial configurations. These include the reconstruction of the former access ramp, the creation of an amphitheatre-style stepped hall, or a simple single-level event space.
