IN THE SHADE OF THE Pohorje FORESTS
Bukovje Manor is one of the most beautiful and impressive Baroque manor houses in Slovenia. It is situated between the plain on the right bank of the Drava River and the forested slopes of Bukovje. Nearby, visitors can also discover the ancient ruins of Pukštanj Castle.
Bukovje Manor was built in the 18th century. Its final private owner, Count Kommetter, remodelled the manor in 1870, giving it the appearance it retains today. In 1932, the impoverished owner sold the estate at auction, and after the World War II the building was occupied first by the Yugoslav Army and later by the Slovenian Armed Forces.
Today, guests can stay overnight at Bukovje Manor in one of its nine rooms, which are particularly popular with cyclists. The manor is especially sought after by wedding planners and event organisers, largely thanks to its wedding hall, which is also suitable for protocol and ceremonial events. In fine weather, weddings and other occasions can additionally take place in the European Park Bukovje surrounding the manor.
Events can be organised in:
- the Wedding Hall (up to 100 guests in classroom layout)
- the manor salons (Small Salon, Blue Salon, Golden Salon and Grand Salon)
- the entrance hall with café
- the manor classrooms
- the manor park courtyard (with the option of marquee hire)
The range of event possibilities is surprisingly extensive, and it is encouraging to see Bukovje Manor become one of the most sought-after event venues in this part of Slovenia.
