A PARK OF FLOWERS AND RENOWNED EXHIBITIONS
The Upper Savinja Valley is best known for its natural treasures, such as Logar Valley and Ljubno ob Savinji. Yet this diverse landscape is also home to Mozirski gaj, a flower park that regularly hosts outdoor events and exhibitions. The park covers seven hectares and features more than 200,000 tulips and around 100 flower beds. For visitors and event organisers alike, the park is open from mid-April until the end of September.
A distinctive feature of Mozirski gaj is its collection of ethnographic and museum buildings, including a traditional farmhouse, a blacksmith’s workshop, an apiary and a granary, all of which can be incorporated into events. In this way, participants can also gain insight into the cultural heritage of the region. Each year, Mozirski gaj hosts a number of high-profile exhibitions, including exhibitions of exotic animals and summer flowers held in August.
The main highlight of Mozirski gaj is undoubtedly its tulips, which dominate the park in spring-time. Mozirski gaj even has its own variety of tulip, which can serve as a unique gift for participants at your event. The park is also home to the European Union Avenue, where each tree represents one of the EU member states. An event set within the blooming surroundings of Mozirski gaj can easily be combined with visits to the attractions of the Upper Savinja Valley and local culinary experiences.
