Colja Dams, Co-CEO of VOK DAMS Worldwide, has been appointed to the jury of the AI Biennale 2026. The initiative positions Germany’s Ruhr region as a connected hub for artificial intelligence and brings together stakeholders from business, academia, and society.

As a juror for the AI Biennale Award, Dams adds a distinct perspective to the AI conversation: the impact of technology on real human experiences. The focus is on projects that already demonstrate today what will be possible tomorrow in business, institutions, education, and society.

At VOK DAMS, the intersection of AI and live marketing is playing an increasingly important role. Using Digital Doppelgängers, target audiences are simulated with AI to better understand which messages, formats, and touchpoints truly resonate. This enables events to be planned consistently with desired outcomes in mind.

“We are already living in a world of simulation. AI is influencing how we work, how we communicate, and even how we speak on stage. That is precisely why events are becoming more important than ever: authentic moments, personal encounters, and shared experiences are the things that cannot be simulated,” says Colja Dams. He adds: “When AI helps us better understand people and make messages more relevant, technology becomes an amplifier of human connection. That is where things get truly exciting.”

With this appointment, Dams joins a jury comprising representatives from business, academia, and politics who evaluate submitted projects based on criteria such as impact, maturity, and practical application.

The AI Biennale Award recognises projects that demonstrate the potential of artificial intelligence through real-world applications, providing inspiration and momentum for both business and society.
