Here’s a different perspective on your trip to IMEX Frankfurt. What if you decided to use your time there to make a positive impact? Here are IMEX’s suggestions on how you can do just that.
Go vegetarian
Going vegetarian for one day (or more) helps us reduce carbon impact and water usage and offers an even better vegetarian choice next year. Embrace the choice and support local food producers too.
Be the first to say hello, then try a different path
Not everyone in the events industry is a confident extrovert. Some of us have just had more practice at pretending! So, once you get past the hellos, try a different path. For example, “I’m experimenting with some different conversation starters. Tell me, what’s your secret superpower?” (This one is inspired by Skift’s Andrea Doyle.)

Prioritize the Impact track
Our new Impact track shows you what it takes to become a B-Corp; why you need to stick your neck out, explores The Belonging Playbook, and goes beyond borders to harness the power of events for refugee relief. Join #eventprofs unplugged to soak up real-life lessons in initiating new program concepts and driving thoughtful change.
Commit to take (at least) one learning insight back to the office
From our Inspiration Hub to our People & Planet Village there is a myriad of opportunities to join education sessions or meet friendly experts who can give you the information or support you need. Making this decision will put you on alert to look out for that gem of an insight.
Take advantage of the Be Well Lounge
Make an impact on your well-being by taking time out to recharge in our Be Well Lounge. Or step into a safe but more vulnerable space and join a Tough Talk. Try the Mental Health Journey with Darren Edwards and Rob Hoskings.
