The MPI Foundation (MPIF), Meeting Professionals International’s (MPI) non-profit arm, today announced its largest individual giving campaign to-date: “40 for 40.” The goal is to raise $40,000 in three days from August 5 to 7, 2024, to celebrate the MPI Foundation’s 40th Anniversary. As an organisation with an international reach, the MPI Foundation encourages everyone and every organization represented by the global meeting, events, and congress, to show support.

The MPIF fuels the advancement of MPI members and the meeting & event industry by providing professional development and career opportunities through grants, scholarships and pan-industry initiatives. Through its fundraising, MPIF has supported thousands of members and industry professionals with education, research and leadership development. The organisation has also been instrumental in sustaining MPI membership during the historic pandemic, providing relief funds and scholarships to those affected by the crisis.

The funds raised through this individual campaign, and all those conducted by the MPI Foundation, go directly to our community,” said Kevin Kirby, Executive Director of the MPI Foundation, “We take tremendous pride in being the known charitable leader for this industry, seeking to put our funds to work where it’s needed most – notably for the individuals, MPI Chapters and peer organizations who propel our industry and work to help change the world.

The MPI Foundation was established in 1984 as the charity arm of Meeting Professionals International (MPI). The association, which was founded in 1972, continues to act as the leader in supporting the advancement of meeting professionals and the global industry by offering professional growth through connections and education. Since its inception the foundation has distributed over $14.4 million for the global meeting and event community, more than any other industry organisation. The MPI Foundation’s mission is to enhance the value and relevance of MPI and the meeting and event industry by investing in people, programs and partnerships.

The MPI Foundation has evolved into a leader; committed to its community and the industry and focused on its vision and mission to directly support the meeting and events industry and those who serve it,” says Susie Townsend, Chief Experience Officer for Visit Indy, and current chair of the MPI Foundation Global Board Of Trustees “As we celebrate forty years, we are taking the opportunity to further grow donations from individuals, chapters, organizations and anyone engaged within our industry.
