PRESERVING HANDICRAFT HERITAGE

The comprehensive preservation and development of cultural heritage is one of the main objectives of handicraft centres around the world. In Slovenia, this role is fulfilled by Rokodelski center Ribnica, which brings together a museum, a gallery and a shop, as well as the craft tradition that lies at the heart of Ribnica’s identity — handicraft production.

At Rokodelski center Ribnica, the team follows a sustainability-oriented vision and actively works to reduce environmental impact through its operations. As part of this commitment, the centre has obtained the Green Key standard, an environmental certificate recognised as a leading benchmark of excellence in environmental responsibility. Woodenware-making and pottery are among the most distinctive crafts of Ribnica, and event participants can explore both through interactive exhibitions at Rokodelski center Ribnica.

Event organisers can take their participants into the world of traditional woodenware on display at the Ribnica Museum, or to explore the rich collection of the Miklova hiša Gallery, which has been active since 1988. Events are hosted in the conference hall on the second floor of Rokodelski center Ribnica, where press conferences, round-table discussions, lectures, meetings and workshops regularly take place. The hall can accommodate up to 80 participants.
