A WINE ESTATE NEAR Ajdovščina
One of the most respected winemaking families in Slovenia is the Ferjančič family. At Posestvo Ferjančič, located near Ajdovščina, wine has been produced since 1809. Here, on the hills of the Vipava Valley, the characteristic Bora wind lends the wines their distinctive freshness. Visitors can sample a range of award-winning wines at the estate, while event organisers can host boutique events in a relaxed setting among the vineyards.
For several years, the Ferjančič family has offered wine tastings complemented by homemade cured meat specialities, either in the shade of an olive tree or in their new tasting room, which can accommodate up to 50 guests. The estate also offers two modernly furnished guest rooms. A particularly memorable experience for event participants is a guided tour of the vineyards, where guests can step into the shoes of winemakers for a day.
Posestvo Ferjančič regularly welcomes smaller groups, while its outdoor area, complemented by the tasting room, provides an ideal setting for boutique events of up to 100 participants. Sheltered by olive trees and nearby cherry trees, guests can experience the authentic character of the region.
This year, Ferjančič Estate is also home to the Slovenian Wine Queen, Sanja Ferjančič, who summarised the family’s winemaking philosophy with the following words: “Wine holds the truth. In wine there is nature, the hard work of the winegrower and the precision of the cellar master. Wine demands sacrifice and even greater dedication. Every bottle carries the story of its maker, respect for the land and love of nature. Wine is an art, created for shared experiences.”
