The Sir Prague hotel has made it to this year’s list of 16 world’s most beautiful hotels selected for the Prix Versailles. It is the first-ever project from the Czech Republic to achieve this milestone, thanks to a combination of meticulous reconstruction and a unique new interpretation of an originally Neo-Renaissance building with Art Nouveau modifications.

On 12th May, 2026, the Prix Versailles published its selection of 16 projects from various regions around the world in the Hotel category. These include recently opened properties, whether they are newly built structures or renovated older buildings. These projects are primarily appreciated for their extraordinary enchantment, innovation, and the extent to which they perfectly fit into their local scene. The World Prix Versailles Organisation (WPVO), founded in association with UNESCO, has been annually awarding outstanding architecture and design projects since 2015. Throughout the year, the WPVO releases shortlists across 8 categories, culminating in a ceremony at UNESCO headquarters at the end of the year, where three projects in each category are honoured with a world title.

In the WPVO press release announcing the 2026 selection of the world’s most beautiful hotel projects, Sir Prague was praised primarily for the restoration of its stone facades, iron railings, wooden parquet floors, and staircases. This was all combined with bold new interior elements designed by Linda Boronkay, drawing inspiration from the legacy of Czech Cubism, while many of the original architectural features were left intact. The result is a series of spaces, each different from the others, featuring warm, eclectic guest rooms and suites that welcomed their first guests in the spring of 2025. For groups and events, Sir Prague offers the capacity of its Library, the Seven North restaurant, or, in warmer months, the Courtyard Bar.
