Peak of the whole month of celebrations certainly culminates on the 31st of December when any business or congress guest to Maribor can join the New Year’s Eve Grand celebration on the biggest city square in Slovenia – Trg Leona Štuklja Square. A unique experience of the New Year’s Eve that takes place in Maribor’s Old Town will start at 9 in the evening and will last until 3 o’clock in the morning.
Maribor’s New Year’s Eve is full of superlatives as it is celebrated on the biggest city square in Slovenia while also being a public New Year’s Eve with the longest tradition in Slovenia as a whole. Thus, carefully selected programme ensures a proper New Year’s Eve fun. Every year, several thousand visitors from Slovenia and abroad enjoy in the best Slovenian singers and bands.
This year, the audiences will be entertained on several of the city’s square. On Trg Leona Štuklja Square two Slovenian bands, Groovocado and Big Foot Mama, will get people dancing from 9 in the evening. On Grajski trg Square a DJ party will ensue, while on the Trg svobode Square a party on ice-skates will take place.
For less traffic and safer rides to and from the Trg Leona Štuklja Square where the New Year’s Eve Grand celebration will take place, the city of Maribor will provide free bus rides on all the bus lines from 8 in the evening and all the way to the first few hours of the first day of the 2020.
