The German industry association FAMAB connected industry partners and representatives and presented the BACK TO LIVE showcase in Frankfurt, Germany. The project started as a helpful resource and guideline for operating in the uncertain COVID-19 times. The Research Institute for Exhibition and Live Communication(R.I.F.E.L) teamed up with virologists and physicians to come up with viable event solutions in line with all health regulations. The result is a showcase event area that meeting planners can tour, observe new safety precautions and experience how the advantages of live events can still be fully exploited.

The decisive factor for the “BACK TO LIVE” event is the ban on large events in Germany, in effect until August to contain the corona pandemic. In particular, the live communication area has suffered enormous losses in recent months due to contact closures and high-security requirements. The economic importance of the event industry is confirmed by a study by Oxford Economics: 149 million participants in 2017, who spent an average of $ 826 per person in Germany, which corresponds to a VAT volume of around EUR 21 billion. The situation is worsened by the high risk to countless jobs and livelihoods.

Jan Kalbfleisch, Managing Director of FAMAB

“The aim is to revitalize the industry with innovative ideas, to build new trust with clients and to show that physical events during COVID-19 can not only be possible but can also be successful.”

FAMAB representatives lead guests through different scenarios and concepts and explain which requirements have to be considered to create a safe but pleasant atmosphere. Various service provider representatives are available on-site to answer questions about catering, event technology and trade fair construction. Live presentations also provide the participants with plenty of information and Q&A sessions take care of detailed questions. After the tour visitors and experts have the opportunity to exchange ideas in the networking lounges. Next to the informative part of the event, musical acts and entertainers from various genres provide entertainment for a rounded experience.

You can experience the showcase event setup for several more weeks with an individual tour by Fredenhagen managing director Lukas Kranz. Personal appointments can be made by e-mail at kranz@spaces-management.de.
