The Small Terrace of Ljubljana and Cankarjev dom

For the whole month of July, the Cankarjev dom – CD Cultural and Congress Centre Ljubljana has been one of the rare meetings centres in the world holding frequent cultural events. This special July programme started on the 30th of June and finished yesterday, on the 23rd of July 2020. Cankarjev dom, the main Slovenian hub for culture and meetings, organised the beautiful evenings every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The programme named The Small Terrace in the Midst of Ljubljana (Mala terasa sredi Ljubljane) provided concerts and theatre performances that were held  in Cankarjev dom’s Club CD. As Club CD is the hall on the highest floor with the outside terrace providing 360° views across Ljubljana and to the distanced Alpine peaks, the venue made for a perfect addition to the cultural happening. And as Cankarjev dom is located in the heart of Ljubljana, delighted audiences were flocking to enjoy in the concerts that were on hold for so long during the Corona pandemic.

From the 1st to the 17th of September, The Small Terrace in the Midst of Ljubljana will continue with its second set of concerts that will delight visitors on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and once on Sunday. All events, but one, will begin at 20.00. For more details, see the list below.

So far the programmes and events in Cankarjev dom announced for July and August carry on without cancellations. All the governmental restrictions about social distance and hygiene are duely followed so that everyone, performers as well as audience, are kept safe and healthy.
