The curtain fell on the third and final day of Ljubljana Talks at IMEX, marking the conclusion of another triumphant edition of this esteemed podcast and talk show. Guided by the seasoned expertise of Gorazd Čad, each session unfolded into a tapestry of riveting discussions and insightful exchanges. As the event drew to a close, it left in its wake a legacy of enriched minds and strengthened connections, reaffirming its status as a leading platform for thought leadership in the industry.

The first guest that Gorazd welcomed in Ljubljana Talks was Ralf Specht from 27Names. He shared a little bit about himself, saying that he lives pretty much next door to IMEX, and that his rich and international experience is what lead him to his current role in 27Names. Gorazd asked him to describe 27Names with three words, upon which he said “27 names is inspiring, it’s a family/community and it’s the future of independent agencies.”
The next two guests at Ljubljana Talks were Vesna Mojsilović and Fredi Fontanot. They spoke about how digital transformation, sustainability, and inclusivity are key to the industry’s future success. Gorazd opened the subject of young talents and how to attract them to the industry of tourism.

They continued to discuss sustainability in the industry, and Vesna stated “I think very important for the meeting industry is to reduce the carbon footprints and also optimise resource usage and minimize the waste. And we also need to promote this responsible approach among the providers and among the clients.”

The next guest was Jan-Jaap In der Maur from Masters of Moderation. Gorazd and Jan-Jaap discussed the magic of moderation. Gorazd asked if moderation is a talent or it can be learned, to which Jan-Jaap answered “A bit of both. That there is a deep, deep personal talent that you need. You need a personality that is driven by helping people by wanting what stories people have to tell, et cetera. If that deep, deep personality drive is there, then there’s techniques that you can learn. There is experience and by doing it a lot, you learn more.”

Christian Pöhlmann from fischerAppelt, live marketing GmbH. Christian emphasized the importance of live marketing experiences in connecting brands and people, creating emotional bonds that can be shared through social media. He highlighted the challenges of standing out in today’s noisy media landscape and discussed the formula for creating successful experiences, including being open-minded, involving a team in the creative process, and considering the customer’s needs and overall strategy.
“We are connecting brands to people. So I guess that’s our main selling point that we are able to understand the client, understand his needs or the needs of the company to analyze which markets and then which goals.”
