Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre is ramping up recruitment as it prepares to open to the community in 2026, aiming to build a strong local team that will help establish the venue as a world-class convention centre.

Venue operator, Victorian Convention and Event Trust (VCET) is assembling a talented local team to lead operations at the Centre, supporting recently appointed General Manager, Rick Aylett.

Over the next three to four months, applications will open for 12 key positions, including Executive Chef, Event and Venue Operations Manager, Marketing Specialist, and Sales Executives. These roles will play a vital part in establishing Nyaal Banyul as a leading convention centre on the global stage.

Construction is progressing well on the precinct, which enjoys a prime waterfront location in Geelong. Once complete, it will feature a 1,000-seat theatre and 3,700 sqm of flexible event space—catering to everything from community gatherings to major conferences and concerts.

“Nyaal Banyul is more than a venue—it will be a place for bringing people together and sharing new ideas. […] While we will benefit from VCET’s 30 years of experience, we are also embracing a start-up mindset as a local team. These new roles will help shape Nyaal Banyul’s identity, and we’re looking for people with enthusiasm, creativity, and a customer-first approach.”

Expected to be transformative for the Greater Geelong region, Nyaal Banyul will create new jobs and drive significant economic growth through its supply chain and increased tourism. Beyond the initial recruitment phase, additional roles will become available as the Centre moves closer to completion.

Applications for positions at Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre are now open, with more to be added over the coming weeks. Apply through nyaalbanyul.com.au/work-with-us.
