NEED TO KNOW IN 2026

The rebranding of business tourism in Prague is in progress and is expected to be completed in 2026. Already now, though, event planners can enjoy a refreshed website of the Prague Convention Bureau, where they will find all the information about hosting events in Prague. Beyond events, the Czech Republic is also becoming a foodie destination thanks to the first-ever Michelin Guide Czechia issued in December 2025. Thanks to local restaurateurs who operate on a farm-to-fork concept and give pride of place to local produce, the Czech Republic now boasts nine MICHELIN-Starred restaurants and 18 Bib Gourmand establishments. The past year has also been a record-breaking one for Prague Airport, offering connections to 127 destinations. The burgeoning number of tourists in the city is also due to Dan Brown’s novel The Secret of Secrets, set in the Czech Republic. Prague is now taking pride in being a year-round destination with an abundance of incentive offerings and a culinary renaissance.

DID YOU KNOW?

There is a really narrow street in Lesser Town (Malá Strana) that’s about 50 cm wide, with traffic lights to prevent collisions between people. This part of Prague is famed for its artisan cafes, cobblestone streets, riverside restaurants and numerous boutiques where visitors can purchase local delicacies. What many visitors often don’t have time to see, though, are the peculiar installations by local artist David Černý. In Malá Strana, you can see the Babies at Kampa, a unique genius loci. Each sculpture is made of bronze and weighs 800 kilograms.

BEST INCENTIVE IDEA IN 2026

Intangible heritage, as the name suggests, consists of specific regional customs, traditions, or crafts. There are already 9 items listed on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage from the Czech Republic, including the most recent one: handmade glass production. However, this craft is also well-known in other countries; the Czech Republic is proud to have preserved all known glassmaking techniques over time, while elsewhere only some have survived. You are welcome to discover the art of glass-making in Prague, where you can try blowing or painting your own piece using your unique creative style and craft your personalised, one-of-a-kind souvenir!

PERFECT GIFT

Discovering (and buying) various glass artworks is a piece of cake in Prague. Lasvit, Preciosa Lightning and famous Moser companies have their showrooms here. Some of them can even be used for holding a small private event with a luxury touch. Don’t hesitate to visit them and take a true Czech souvenir back home!

PRAGUE'S FEATURES

NATURAL AND CULTURAL FACTORS

Various aspects of urban charm were examined in a study by Compare the Market AU. It selected the most suitable cities for creatives and culture enthusiasts. It turned out that there is certainly no shortage of art experiences in Prague. The hundred-spired mother of cities has long attracted tourists, investors and artists from all over the world. The number of cultural institutions has gained it the fifth place in the ranking.

GENERAL AND TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE

After 40 years, Prague has a new railway station: The reconstructed Praha–Bubny has entered service. It stops at the Prague Exhibition Grounds, and is also part of the planned train connection between the city centre and the airport. Work on the new Metro D line in Prague is also ongoing.

TOURIST INFRASTRUCTURE

Prague City Tourism has unveiled new products and guided tours, including ones based on the new novel by Dan Brown (Secrets of Secrets), set in Prague. Thanks to the novel, guests can experience Prague through the eyes of a global bestselling author and immerse themselves in the magical atmosphere of a city where history meets mystery.

MEETINGS INFRASTRUCTURE

Meetings Prague expanded last year with several new event venues, suitable for both small private events and large congresses and conferences. At least five additional projects are due to be completed. Together, the new premises will have a total capacity of at least 6,500 persons, including 1,000 newly constructed hotel rooms. However, the newly built or reconstructed facilities will not only serve event organisers but also boost cultural and gastronomic activities for local residents.
