Just outside Osijek, Čepin will soon welcome one of the most ambitious cultural developments in Southeast Europe. EVE Music Hall, a landmark concert and congress centre designed by the internationally acclaimed Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), is rapidly taking shape amid the vast Slavonian landscape, promising to transform the region into a major destination for music, culture, business events and tourism.
Set to open its doors in March 2027, the sprawling 10,000-square-metre complex marks the largest private cultural investment in Croatia’s recent history. At the helm is entrepreneur and Žito Group majority owner Marko Pipunić, whose ambitions reach well beyond building a performance space. EVE is imagined as a beacon of national culture and a spark for regional growth.
Designed by Danish starchitect Bjarke Ingels in collaboration with Croatian practice SIRRAH Projekt and theatre consultants Theatre Projects, the building takes inspiration from both the openness of the Slavonian plains and the theatrical nature of performance. Two colossal edifices emerge from the landscape, wrapped in locally sourced limestone façades that cascade toward the ground like oversized stage curtains, creating a powerful architectural identity visible from afar.

A main concert hall for up to 2,800 visitors
At the heart of the complex lies a versatile events programme. The main concert hall will feature 1,021 seats and accommodate up to 2,800 visitors in concert configuration, while a secondary multifunctional hall with 308 seats will host conferences, congresses, exhibitions and cultural programmes. Together, the indoor venues will welcome nearly 4,000 guests, while the surrounding festival grounds are designed to host open-air events for up to 25,000 visitors.
EVE Music Hall goes far beyond traditional performance venues, offering exhibition galleries, hospitality suites, artist retreats, rooftop event terraces, a restaurant, sweeping panoramic viewpoints and lively public spaces. These features transform it into a vibrant, year-round hub. Cutting-edge acoustic technology will allow the halls to morph seamlessly for any occasion.

As construction moves steadily forward, the limestone-clad complex already rises as a bold new landmark on the Slavonian horizon.
