Q: How would you describe the event and what where the key objectives?

Dubrovnik and the leading Croatian tourism company Valamar Riviera hosted the Daimler – Mercedes Benz “Global Training Experience 2016“ from February to mid-April 2016. Global Training Experience is a training event for the Mercedes Benz sales staff in which 13,000 Mercedes’ agents from around the globe have participated. 40 groups of 385 people participated in the event, which lasted for a total of 10 weeks. Each group was further divided into 16 smaller groups consisting of 24 participants, which were given the opportunity to drive, test and check the performances of some of the most luxurious and newest Mercedes cars during the two-day training period. Dubrovnik and its guests were given the chance to see luxury Mercedes cars pass through the city streets for over two months. A total of 340 Mercedes S-, C- and E-class cars were brought to Dubrovnik for the event. What made this year’s E-class car showcase so special was the fact that this type of presentation is organised only once every seven years. Valamar realised how valuable this event was from the start, especially after deciding on Dubrovnik and our flagship hotels, the Valamar Dubrovnik President 5* and the Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik 4*as venues for hosting the event. KEY CHALLENGES

40 groups of 385 people participated in the event, which lasted for a total of 10 weeks. The biggest challenge was operational handlinig of such a big and complex event – set up of conference rooms with static and dynamic car presentations, car exhibitions on different locations in the hotels, various types of F&B events, car parking presentations, car exhibitions on different locations in the hotels, various types of F&B events, car parking organization for 400 cars, etc.

CREATIVITY

Creating home away from home for more than 150 organization team members. Dubrovnik was positioned highly on the map of world auto motive events and conference destinations.

INNOVATION

Usage of existing conference and other hotel facilities in a completely new way following latest technology and AV trends.

EXECUTION

We managed to deliver quality service and products which even exceeded the expectations both of organizators and guests.

MEASURABLE RESULTS

Approx. 13.000 overnight stays was realized during 10 weeks of the event in period of traditionally low season in Dubrovnik and without direct international flight connections.

COMMUNICATION

Dubrovnik was positioned highly on the map of world auto motive events and conference destinations thanks to the efforts of the entire Daimler and Valamar communications teams.
