The Slovenian School Museum, one of the oldest national museums in Slovenia, is located in the city centre of Ljubljana. Its collection includes an old classroom demonstrating the »live play of history«. The »lessons of our grandfathers and grandmothers« are a mixture of spontaneous learning and entertainment. The visitors can re-live, through a vigilant eye of the »schoolmistress«, the school environment of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy.

»Learning Lesson« incentive has been for almost 20 years offering a time machine to its visitors so they can go back in history and have a unique experience of an old classroom. Teachers have a strict voice, they are dressed according to the school fashion of the time, and they hold the necessary punishing stick. It is a classroom where different rules apply, where it is not allowed to chat, and where one needs to sit straight, and answer teacher’s questions standing up. If the rules are not strictly followed, one must kneel in the corner.

This way a special atmosphere gets created and the visitors have great fun while trying not to laugh loudly since they could be punished … And on top of it: the guests can, among other things, learn to count from one to ten in Slovene language. The quality of the programme has been affirmed by more than 6500 hours of performed »learning lessons« in the last year.

Bring your congress guests into a different world and time and allow them to learn a few things about Slovenia through discipline and supressed giggle. Do you dare? Do they dare?
