The Convention4U is a conference for Austrian event locations, event organizers, conference- & exhibition centres and PCO’s. It offers an unique opportunity to meet and exchange with colleagues of the meetings industry. It is also a good marketing and networking platform. The programme includes training sessions and interesting presentations with professionals of the meetings industry. A well organized social programme with typical traditions of the respective federal state frames the event. From an exclusive gala dinner at the Swarovski Crystal Worlds to a business lunch at 2.000 meters above sea level.
Creativity
The event brought very good feedback from all the participants. The atmosphere was very unique – the opening ceremony in the historical Hall Dogana (history goes back to the 16th century) with a professional dance group of young & talented children from the USA (Stars of tomorrow); especially the driveaway from the city centre of Innsbruck to the Nordkette mountain in about 20 minutes. A typical tyrolean business lunch with regional food, the visit of the new and rebuild Swarovski Crystal Worlds incl. welcome reception in the new event location, the gala event with traditional tyrolean musicians and “Schuhplattler”
Innovation
Training sessions for professionals of the industry, technical visits at the Congress Centre (special technical set- up because of an international dance event); venue site inspection, green event, paperless conference, every delegate received an Ipad with the digital programme on it, no printed programme
Execution
A welcome reception at the Swarovski crystal worlds with 200 delegates in total, an opening ceremony in the historical Hall Dogana with a professional dance group of young & talented children from the USA (Stars of tomorrow); 2-day-event with training sessions, presentations, coffee breaks, lunch on the Nordkette mountain, gala event in the green location “congresspark igls” with traditional tyrolean, food musicians and the tyrolean dance group “Schuhplattler”

Key challenges:
The main challenges were with the training sessions and the social programme (Gala dinner, Business lunch, regional coffee breaks), as well as bringing the green character to life.
After Event: Sustainable solution
The Convention4U was a paperless conference with a green mindset, which was exchanged between colleagues of the austrian meetings industry.
