City of Ljubljana has recently announced launch of its new campaign with the aim to present the positive consequences of tourist activity in Slovenia’s capital. Ljubljana Tourism, a destination management organisation established by the City of Ljubljana, has been fostering, developing and promoting tourism in Slovenia’s capital. Thus, the campaign has been launched in a joint effort between the City of Ljubljana and Ljubljana Tourism.
The name of the campaign, ‘Tourism Makes Ljubljana …’ aimed at Ljubljana’s residents, implies that tourism and its positive impacts make Ljubljana better, friendlier, more active, more cultural, more diverse, more interesting, more connected, etc. All of the mentioned result from infrastructural, sports, and other gains, like congress and business tourism, as well as from projects that were co-financed from tourist revenues and were primarily intended for city residents.
With the promotion of tourism, both of the important stakeholders organising, launching and leading the campaign, will try to achieve awareness on tourism ultimately improving the city for its residents. Activities include the placement of posters around the city to present to local residents how their own neigbourhood developed with a direct boost from profits in tourism.
On the web portal Visit Ljubljana, projects that were co-financed from tourism revenues are listed, among them Gault & Millau Ljubljana Quality Mark 2021, November Gourmet Ljubljana, Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism, Ljubljana-Style Breakfast, Green Supply Chains, European Food Summit, open air events, Ljubljana Ambassador Club, Ljubljana Convention Bureau Consortium, to name a few.
