GR is very proud of more than 60 years being active in the meeting industry. The unique location with a charming green yard is an example of modern functionalistic architecture. As a result of a number of past investments and renovations gives the impression of a well maintained centre which comes in line with the highest international standards.

Among many professional conference organizers, like Kenes International, which brought to GR two medical world congresses – Autoimmunity Congres 2010 and The European Society of Regional Anasthesia & Pain Therapy 2014 – with 1,400 delagates, GR hosted the 14th Congress of the European Association of Agricultural Economists, 40. World Scouts Conference, 27. Simposium on Lepton Photon, OSCE – 13th OSCE Ministerial Council Meeting and many others.

GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre

As Tracy Phillips, Head of Event & Marketing at Annual British Travel Convention of ABTA, said: »The facility worked really well for the event, especially having all of our networking spaces on the same level. It would be great to pack up the GR and take it with us to each destination as we had worked so well together.«

GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre, the largest convention centre in Slovenia comprising of 20 multifunctional halls that occupy a surface area of 12,323 square meters, has turned its outdoor area into an ice rink. The amazing Ice Park Lucky was a hotspot for icy incentives like skating, figure skating, team bonding over curling. Those who were looking for a teambuilding activity that actually benefited their team chose a fun winter incentive in Ljubljana. The Ice Park Lucy ran by the leading Slovenian company in the field of skating and rollerblading Lucky Luka, offered a number of relaxing or competing activities on a regular size ice ring as well as fun times on ice slides throughout the whole winter.

The meetings industry can be compared to the world of birds. Like birds, meetings industry professionals know no borders, migrating to several nesting destinations, and some of them coming back. Just like Conventa. The GR -Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre has remained Conventa’s loyal nesting destination since the beginning in 2009. However, Conventa is not the only bird returning here.

Kenes International, which in 2010 brought to the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre the World congress on Autoimmunity with 1200 participants as the congress of the year in Slovenia, is coming back in September 2015 due to its excellent experience. Will the congress from the field of medicine, ESRA – European Society of Regional Anaesthesia Congress, with its 1400 participants from all over the world, again resound from the GR -Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre as the congress of the year in Slovenia?

For three years now Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Center has been enriching its offer with the hottest pop up festival club in Ljubljana, opened only in December time. With this year’s new location, Kurzschluss has the capacity to host even larger business events. Since 2013 the club has hosted over 100 artists and was visited by over 25.000 party goers, tourists, celebrities, business man and women. In a very short time it managed to win over Europe’s finest music talents (Pendulum, Umek, Laibach, Joris Voorn, Cristian Varela, Matador, Siddharta, Magnifico, Dubioza kolektiv and many others) and generate loyal Kurzschluss followers who appreciate the brand’s promise of the best night life experience in Ljubljana.

GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre strongly considers the environmental aspects of its operations by maintaining a sustainable development and environmental responsibility. As a part of a broader cooperation under the City of Ljubljana GR is playing an active role in the economic, cultural, social and environmental projects, such as Ljubljana – the Green Capital 2016.
